My journey into car detailing began long before it became a business. It started with a simple routine—washing my own car and my wife’s car on weekends. Before long, neighbours were regularly stopping by to ask where they could park next after seeing the results. Their compliments and interest planted the seed for what would eventually become Precision Driven Detailing.
When COVID arrived and restrictions limited many of our usual activities, detailing became a perfect way to get outdoors and stay productive. I decided to print a few flyers and distribute them around my local neighbourhood. To my surprise, within just two days I had built up a three-week waiting list. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a thriving side business, allowing me to earn additional income while doing something I genuinely enjoyed.
In 2022, I made the decision to take my passion to the next level. Rather than treating detailing as simply a hobby, I wanted to develop professional skills and provide the highest standard of service possible. I enrolled in a professional detailing training course, where I learned the techniques, craftsmanship, and attention to detail required to achieve exceptional results. As a self-confessed petrolhead, this was a natural progression and gave me the knowledge to not only care for customers’ vehicles but also keep my own pride and joy looking its best.
For me, detailing is far more than cleaning a vehicle—it’s a therapeutic process. There is something incredibly satisfying about carefully restoring a vehicle’s appearance, bringing back its shine, and seeing the transformation unfold. Every vehicle presents a new opportunity to improve, enhance, and protect something that means a great deal to its owner.
Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than transforming a vehicle and making it look as close to new as possible. This isn’t just a job; it’s a genuine passion. I take pride in every vehicle I work on and genuinely enjoy the process of improving its appearance. The greatest reward comes when a customer sees their transformed vehicle for the first time. The smile on their face and the excitement they feel is the highest compliment I can receive as a detailer and the reason I love what I do.
